“My name is Yasmin. I am currently completing the last year of my bachelor’s degree in microbiology and immunology in Université de Montréal. I was born and raised in Canada, a privilege that was granted to me thanks to my parents who immigrated from Lebanon 30 years ago. I however try to stay in touch with my roots by learning Arabic, discovering the culture, and visiting my home country where most of my family lives.
The field of health has always been one of my main interests during my studies, which consequently impacted my program choice in university. As the time progresses, I have discovered the beauty of research and the potential that it holds to answer unsolved questions or to decipher many ongoing and emerging issues inside and outside the health discipline, despite the challenges that are brought along."

en microbiologie et immunologie à l’Université de Montréal. Je suis née et j'ai grandi au Canada, un privilège qui m'a été offert par mes parents qui ont immigré du Liban il y a 30 ans. J'essaye de renouer avec mes racines en apprenant l'arabe, en découvrant la culture et en visitant mon pays d'origine qui abrite la plupart de ma famille.
Le domaine de la santé a toujours été l'un de mes plus grands intérêts tout au long de mes études, ce qui a eu un impact sur mon choix de programme à l'université. Au fil du temps, j'ai découvert la beauté de la recherche ainsi que son potentiel de répondre aux questions scientifiques ou de déchiffrer les nombreux problèmes retrouvés dans la discipline de la santé et en dehors, malgré les défis qui en découlent."
